Random,
I can dig it.
I didn't think you meant it as an insult, and you certainly don't have to apologize to me. I was jus' curious.
All gaming iz teh serious biznezz to me.
But seriously, none of my games have been goofy or gonzo ever. It's just not my taste. I'd have to try hard to make it so. Heck, I'd probably run something like Encounter Critical seriously. Well, I'm exaggerating, but you understand.
There may be a more goofy and crazy fun sort of tone at the GG forums, but I don't see that in the game. Guess it's a person-by-person perspective thing.
But, as I said... I can dig it. :)

@John: Yeah, and what about those Christopher Walken siege battle tokens!

You're probably right, MachFront. I got used to corresponding with the crazy Labyrinth Lord crew before actually playing the game, so now I associate it with much tomfoolery and light-hearted gaming.

-LOL!-
John, I laughed at the "alternate" cover for Under Siege in August and laughing just as hard now. It and the new "alternative" cover for Ruins of Ramat are outstanding. Hee hee.

A compatibility issue that I noted while reviewing an S&W module for Mythmere:

S&W uses AC [AAC] format, where AC + AAC = 19. Thus, an unarmored character has AC 9, AAC 10; a first level fighter hits an unarmored character on a roll of 10 or better.

By comparison, BFRPG uses an ascending AC system, where an unarmored character has an AC of 11. First level fighters get an attack bonus of +1, and thus hit an unarmored character on a roll of 10 or better.

In the BFRPG modules, which are generally compatible with LL and OSRIC, I show BFRPG AC first, then the descending-format LL/OSRIC AC second; this falls down for unarmored characters, which are AC 9 in LL, AC 10 in OSRIC, but otherwise works pretty well. This way, BFRPG AC + LL AC = 20, rather than 19. Thus, an S&W GM using a BFRPG module would need to either (a) use the descending AC system, or (b) deduct 1 from the BFRPG AC. Likewise in reverse, a BFRPG GM using an S&W module would need to add one to the AAC value to get a correct BFRPG figure.

This, combined with the very strict terms of the S&W license, prevents me from adding an S&W compatibility statement to the BFRPG module suite. They'll still work fine if you apply my notes above, but as I understand it I can't publish those notes either since they call out S&W by "name."

BTW, for reference, the SRD assigns an unarmored character AC 10 (ascending, of course) and gives a +1 BAB to a 1st level fighter, so he hits the unarmored character on a 9 or better. I chose to set the unarmored AC at 11 so that conversions between descending and ascending AC would involve subtraction from 20 (easier than from 19 if you are an idiot like me) and also so that the 1st level fighter would hit the unarmored character on a 10, consistent with BX.

Walken isn't the only one to make an appearance. Steven Seagal and Chuck Norris will be in there too according to the last update on the project. Hell, I think there is even a spider goat running around in there somewhere.

I'm developing my first S&W adventure module and was wondering about an "official" stat block for monsters. I came across the above forum entry from Mythmere. I see that this stat block is almost identical in The Spire of Iron and Crystal adventure. Is there such as thing as an "official" monster stat block in S&W? 8-)
