The adventure begins... tonight! Great work, Matt. Just read through it, and it dovetails perfectly with my Hyperborea campaign. 8-)

Cheers,
Jeff T.

For some reason, I am getting a strong Holmesian impression from it - there seems to be a connection to the example dungeon in the blue boxed set.

Not intentionally. I just came up with the name out of nowhere, and came up with the idea of the deadly upper levels because ... um ... I couldn't think of what to put in them.

Started a campaign journal here. I meant to do this with my last few melan adventures, but life is busy, and I never got around to it.

Oh, I meant a spiritual impression, the way it is structured, or how the maps look like.

Matt,

The one thing that escapes me after two readings is this -- What exactly did Osmiar the Traitor do to betray Mordrass Kor? Is the nature of his betrayal left intentionally vague for me, the referee to devise, or am I missing some key sentence somewhere? Just wondering . . .

Cheers,
Jeff T.

Jeff, it's intentionally vague. I always think of the activity of wizards as ... inscrutable and not always rational. What exactly they do, how they do it, and why they do it are best left unclear even to the reader-referee. Perhaps something will occur to the referee - a great idea that I would have foreclosed - and if not, the unclear nature of it is still an acceptable outcome for the players if you are taking the sort of Clark Ashton Smith / Jack Vance approach to the opaque and inscrutable nature of powerful wizards. :D
