Starting on Knockspell #5 (and #6)

Starting on Knockspell #5 (and #6)

Postby Mythmere » Sun Jan 24, 2010 8:53 am

Now that Knockspell #4 is in the layout phase, I am going to attempt the herculean task of putting together all the material for both #5 and #6 - so that I am one issue ahead of schedule.

Here is a secret for those who read this board. Knockspell #5 and thereafter will go into distribution, and will be available in game stores. So the authors and artists hereafter will be seeing their work on game store shelves.

I realize that for some people this might be a bit intimidating. Don't let this throw you - our content thus far is better than what already appears in game stores, and what you write, if it's up to our normal standard, is absolutely the quality of what should be in game stores. I edit and make suggestions, so you'll have that additional assurance that your article will be fine when it hits final form. Don't let the idea of having your work available in game stores scare you off from writing or turning in the article!

In some sense, this is an open secret - feel free to mention it if you want, although at some point I'll make a full scale announcement.

Anyway, please give some thought to articles, modules, or spells/items/monsters you might write. You can turn in the smaller features in complete form - for articles or adventures, please send me a quick summary of the idea before writing it in full.

Write On! (ahem). :D

Awesome! That's very cool. Time permitting, I hope to be able to contribute to KS#5 and/or #6. 8-)

Send me some email, Akrasia! The March 20 deadline for articles is beginning to loom. I have some ideas for articles if you're running dry..

Argh, I'm insanely busy until March 22nd. :( Perhaps issue 6 (unless you're willing to consider a one-week 'grace period').

For you, March 29. :D It means I likely won't be able to get it illustrated unless you give me an early idea of what you're writing, though.

Myth, do you want another article on non-PC magic items? The Wheels got me spinning on other useful, but not PC-equippable magic gear.

Just an FYI:

I'd be happy to assist Knockspell adventure/module authors in converting their hand drawn graph paper maps to old school style blue and white or black and white ones (using The Gimp). Honestly, I'm no expert at this but I've made some decent ones, and the old school ones are pretty easy to do.

Obviously I'll do this in my spare time as life permits, but if they are one page it shouldn't be a problem.

If you want to do these yourself it's not hard: The relevant thread at cartographer's forum is:

pm me or send an email

here's an example
